Info:This is not a real bagpipe festival, but one of the numerous "Romerías", which are really local events organised in many villages all over the Iberian peninsula. Their origin being religious, they consist of a short-distance "pilgrimage" (i.e. a procession accompanied by music [in Galicia usually with bagpipes]) to the local church or chapel. After a short "mass", there’s feasting (in Galicia usually with free wine and fish, offered by the community), music, and dancing. NB: San Xiao is an "aldea" [hamlet] of Cariño.
