Pitisci, Giuseppe

1906-1970

piper (&c.) mentioned by name

Born in Scapoli (prov. Isernia); When going to work in the fields during summer, he always brought his Zampogna, wrapped in his dark cloth jacket, to play it and silence the many cicadas during meals; Also during harvests he often went to cheer up the reapers at their meal, and keep the cute but deafening homoptera at bay; Surely it must also have been a very pleasant "pretext" for some entertainment that helped to recover, in this manner, from the hard work with the scythe.

Instrument: Zampogna
